Exciting developments and new business openings have us excited about Leander’s future! We’re going to tell you what’s the latest coming to Leander.
In early October, Leander Mayor Troy Hill proposed a $1 billion development. The 78-acre property will have retail, restaurants, entertainment, hospitality, office, and residential space. Ten acres of boardwalk will surround the 4-acre lagoon. The lagoon will be the center of the more than 1 million square feet of commercial development. The residential development will have up to 1,600 units of multifamily properties.
Phase 1: the developer must complete 35,000 square feet of commercial development and the lagoon by December 31st, 2023. Up to 400 multifamily residential units can be created.
Phase 2: the developer must complete 100,000 square feet of commercial development within five years of receiving the first certificate for developments from Phase 1.
Zoning meetings will take place on November 19th and December 3rd to make a final determination.
