Leander: Sweet Land of Liberty Fest

The booms and cacophony are heard for miles as the light show dances and dazzle for a few seconds before another blast draws your attention. It’s the undeniable and attention-grabbing fireworks show that comes along with every Independence Day celebration, and Liberty Fest in Leander is no exception.

July Fourth is a time to gather with loved ones, meet new people, listen to great music, and see what sets our town apart from the rest. Just east of the ACC San Gabriel campus, vendors, musicians, and chefs gather to put on one of the best summer events in Central Texas.

Starting at 5:30 PM, the doors open and the festivities begin with a variety of children’s activities, food and shopping vendors available to peruse, and Jason Boland & The Stranglers hitting the stage at 6 PM. Mike Ryan will then make his debut at 8 PM and take us right into one of the largest fireworks displays in the area at 9:25 PM.

All that said, there are a few things you need to know in order to make sure you get everything you can from your experience.

  1. Bags and coolers will be searched, so be sure to leave all alcohol, glass items, and household furniture at home or in your vehicle.

  2. Do not bring umbrellas larger than three feet in diameter close to the stage as you don’t want to block the view of others.

  3. Kids Zone wristbands are available for $10 at the city info booth.

  4. Parking will be available at the venue, and there will be two lots you will be directed to when you drive in.

  5. While no outside alcohol is permitted, there will be adult beverages available for purchase from the vendors. Bring a valid ID and grab a wristband as you will need to show it to any vendor before you are allowed to purchase alcohol.

Leander has so many wonderful events to make you feel like you’re a part of a truly special community.
