What’s New In And Around Crystal Falls: Upcoming Projects To Watch

Crystal Falls is one of Leander’s most beloved communities, and it continues to evolve right alongside the rapid growth of our city. With exciting new residential projects, retail hubs, and roadway improvements on the horizon, our neighborhood is poised for even greater convenience, connectivity, and quality of life. Here’s a closer look at what’s coming soon in and around Crystal Falls — and why it matters for you.

Crystal Village — A 65-Acre Mixed-Use Destination

One of the largest developments to keep your eye on is Crystal Village, a 65-acre, $250 million mixed-use project at the corner of 183A Toll Road and East Crystal Falls Parkway.

The plan includes a modern apartment community with nearly 350 units offering resort-style amenities like a pool, fitness center, and co-working spaces. In addition, new restaurants, shops, and service-based businesses are set to round out the development, making it a true “live, work, play” destination. Open spaces and community gathering spots will help create a vibrant hub where neighbors can connect — something that will bring new energy to the Crystal Falls corridor.

The Square at Crystal Falls — A New Shopping Hub

Breaking ground in 2025 and expected to open in 2026, The Square at Crystal Falls will bring nearly 30,000 square feet of retail and dining space right into our backyard. This project is designed to create a walkable, boutique-style shopping and dining destination. Imagine grabbing a coffee, exploring specialty shops, or meeting a friend for dinner just minutes from home — all without needing to drive down into Austin or Cedar Park.

New Retail & Restaurants on Crystal Falls Parkway

Another highly anticipated project is a $48 million development along Crystal Falls Parkway. Plans include more than 150,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and office space, plus community gathering areas. For Crystal Falls residents, this will mean more dining and shopping options close to home, as well as expanded opportunities for local employment.

The addition of spaces like these not only enhances lifestyle convenience but also adds to the long-term value and desirability of our community.

Roadway Improvements: Raider Way & Woodview Drive

Growth brings traffic, and the City of Leander is tackling this head-on with a major roadway improvement project near Crystal Falls. Raider Way and East Woodview Drive are being widened to three lanes with new sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, and improved lighting.

This project covers nearly a mile of road, stretching from Crystal Falls Parkway to the 183A frontage road. It’s designed to improve school-day traffic flow near Wiley Middle School and Rouse High School, while also making the area safer for pedestrians and cyclists. Overnight paving began earlier this year to minimize daytime congestion — proof that the city is committed to balancing convenience with growth.

Northline — Leander’s Emerging Downtown

A bit farther south but still important to Crystal Falls residents is Northline, a massive 116-acre development that will serve as Leander’s new downtown. Positioned near Leander Station, it’s designed as a walkable, mixed-use district with shopping, dining, offices, apartments, parks, and civic spaces.

Northline will change the way many of us experience Leander by offering a central gathering point for festivals, concerts, and community events. Over time, this project could also positively impact property values in nearby neighborhoods like Crystal Falls by creating a true cultural and commercial heart for the city.

183A Toll Road Extension

In April 2025, the long-awaited 183A Toll Road extension officially opened, stretching northward to Highway 29 in Liberty Hill. For Crystal Falls residents, this means easier commutes, shorter travel times, and smoother access to northern destinations. Improved regional connectivity makes our community even more attractive to both current homeowners and future buyers.

The pace of development in and around Crystal Falls is more than just growth — it’s transformation.
